Freedom Environmental Impact Reduction Policy and WEEE

What does WEEE stand for? It stands for The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations.

Freedom takes recycling and the impact of it’s business activities on the environment very seriously. Freedom works with the Environmental Agency and Valpak to reduce the electrical waste and equipment created by it’s business to be deposited into landfill sites. This in turn reduces hazardous substances which can contaminate water supplies and pollute soil, which may then result in damage to human health and the environment.

All new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol as shown on our packaging. Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste.

Freedom believes the impact of the e-cig industry waste could be great unless companies become more responsible and actively promote WEEE, whilst initiating customer incentives drives to help reduce their footprint.

Freedom has set up FERIP which offers registered reward customers points when they return their dead battery, disposable or charger to ensure the products are disposed of safely via Valpak, and not in landfill sites. Please see our Rewards Program for how you can benefit from Freedom Reward points and also remember you help save the environment too.
